From form to profile at APU Schönberg!

1921

Johannes Bolten founds the company. Combs of aluminium, Bakelite and rubber, and later of galalith, celluloid and hard rubber are produced now in the buildings of the Hessemer toy factory in Nuremberg.

1958

Founding of the BOLTA operating site for industry and building profiles in Schönberg. The company starts to produce extrusion plastic profiles in the premises of former Sportex company.

1973

One of the factory buildings (tool construction) catches on fire and burns out entirely. Luckily, no one is injured. Central processing machines such as erosion and milling machines can also be saved from the fire and are soon usable again.

1984

Founding of - legally independent - BOLTA Industrie- und Bauprofile GmbH.

1985

English Melton-Medes group and its owner Nat Puri acquire BOLTA Werke in Nuremberg and the BOLTA extrusion plant in Schönberg in 1985.

1989

Inspired by the political changes in the Eastern European countries, the current manager at the time, Herbert Hagn, decides to have a factory built in Hungary together with two other investors. In the course of the next years, BOLTA becomes the sole owner of Profilplast K.f.t.

1991

On 26 September 1991, the newly built state-of-the-art and future-oriented factory in Saunstein (Schönberg) is inaugurated. The prerequisites for further growth are ensured with a production area of 2,250 sqm and a storage area of 2,500 sqm.

BOLTA builds a modern production operation for plastic processing in the market town of Schönberg and adds a large number of new jobs.

2013

BOLTA is acquired by APU Schönberg GmbH, a subsidiary of APU AG, headquartered in Swiss Schaffhausen. The parent has long experience in the development and sales of high-quality plastic profiles for the construction industry.
